Ruth Ann Jennings, LCSW

Background
Ruth Ann completed her MSW at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with a specialization in community mental health. She received her Bachelor of Arts with a Psychology Major from Eureka College. Ruth Ann has more than 20 years of therapeutic experience working with children, teens and adults/senior adults - individuals and families. From those years she gained experience working in crisis intervention and crisis anxiety disorders, self-harm behaviors, marital issues, grief and loss, and anger managements (care and control). At this time Ruth Annis accepting new clients over the age of 18.

Approach to Therapy
The primary approach Ruth Ann uses in her sessions is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, she is able to accommodate her clients by adapting her style, using a type or a combination of types of therapy that fit their needs. Her life experiences have most definitely helped her to become a patient and understanding therapist. She offers her clients a warm and welcoming environment.

About Ruth Ann
Ruth Ann and her husband Jay have been married for 50 years and have four grown children and five grandchildren. They were foster parents for 16 years and through that experience were given the opportunity to adopt two of their children. Ruth Ann opened and directed an inner city center while living in Iowa. She taught four and five year olds for more than 30 years in Sunday school and for the past eight years and taught the junior/senior high class at her church. Ruth Ann loves helping and supporting others. If she meets a stranger, they are not that for long.
