Pam Gottschalk, LCSW
Background
Pam has been in the mental health field since 2008, and completed her MSW at University of Illinois with a focus in community mental health. Since then, Pam has gained expertise in the areas of crisis intervention, early childhood, parenting skills, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, trauma, marital issues, mood and stress concerns. She enjoys working with people of all ages.
Approach to therapy
Pam adopts a holistic approach to facilitate growth, empowerment and notable change. She uses a mind-body approach to understand and treat trauma and or stress. In addition to traditional models of psychotherapy, including EMDR, Pam is a Certified Level II NET Practitioner, and has completed certification in Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, and Brain Gym. She is also a Reiki Master. Through these techniques Pam can focus on the beliefs that can often get in the way and work to have congruency in the mind body dialog - getting to the root of the issue. Pam is accepting, calm and eager to assist her clients in finding and remembering the best of themselves to move forward in life. Pam strongly supports the clients' right to self-determination, and will assist her clients in identifying what they want or need.
About Pam
Pam is fro Central Illinois and was raised in a small community. She worked in the family business since she was 12 years old and understands a good work ethic. Pam has worked in the service industry most of her life in some capacity from nursing to serving tables and has learned a lot about people in all walks of life.
She loves learning, reading, traveling, dining and being outdoors and near or in the water. For fun she likes music, dance, and a good movie.
