DeeAnne Reimers, LCPC

Background
Dee Anne Reimers is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She earned her BA in Psychology from Augustana College and her MA in Art Therapy from the University of Illinois Chicago. Since 1999, Dee Anne has provided counseling services throughout the Peoria area, supporting clients in settings such as outpatient clinics, foster care programs, family medical practices, and private practice. She works with individuals across the lifespan—from children as young as 18 months to adolescents and adults—navigating challenges related to mental health, trauma, grief and loss, parenting, relationship strain, and life transitions.

Dee Anne has extensive experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and other forms of neurodivergence as well as their caregivers and families. She has also developed a specialty in addressing emotional and behavioral concerns that are compounded by physical and developmental disabilities.

Approach to Therapy
Dee Anne’s style is warm, humanistic, and client-centered. She emphasizes a strength-based and solution-focused approach that honors the values and lived experiences of the people she serves. Drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), family systems, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, rational-emotive therapy, psychodynamic approaches, interpersonal work, and play and creative-based therapies—Dee Anne tailors her methods to best support each client’s goals and needs. She is currently continuing her professional development through specialty training with Star Behavioral Health Providers (SBHP), enhancing her ability to serve the unique mental health needs of military-connected servicemen and women and their families.

About Dee Anne
Dee Anne is a proud military parent. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their three children and their many spoiled pets. She loves reading (preferably on/near a beach but anywhere will do), game nights, being her husband's backpack on his motorcycle, travel, and photographing her adventures. She aspires to someday turning these images into paintings or sketches but for now they live on her phone. A lifelong Midwesterner and farm kid, Dee Anne brings authenticity, humor, and compassion to everything she does. She enjoys a good laugh (especially if it’s a cringe-worthy joke) and values the balance between deep work and lighthearted connection. Whether in her personal life or in her practice, Dee Anne approaches each relationship with steadiness, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose.
